Strong second, third quarters lift Mona Shores to a victory over GR Union

GRAND RAPIDS — The visiting Mona Shores Sailors posted a league victory on Friday night with a 49-30 win over Grand Rapids Union.

Mona Shores outscored Union 31-15 in the middle two quarters and took control of the game.

Khaleeya Cook was the lone Sailor in double figures with 13 points. Katie Phillips added nine, Ali Phillips had eight, Logan Clausen had six and Addison Fisher had five.

Maiya Hill led Union (5-10, 1-9) with 12 points.

Mona Shores (11-7, 6-4) plays at Zeeland West on Tuesday.
