Grant defeats Lakeview, Morley-Stanwood in Friday softball action

 

GRANT — In a rather unique doubleheader on Friday, the Grant Tigers defeated Lakeview 12-0 in the first game and Morley-Stanwood 16-2 in the nightcap.

 

In the opener, Jayci Hance had four hits, including a double, and scored three runs. Reese Gragg had two doubles while Alexa Obenauf, Allie Robeck and Emma Bliss each had one.

 

Senior Emma Bliss was the winning pitcher. She gave up two hits and struck out eight.

 

In the second game against the Mohawks, the Tigers were led by Taylee Self with four hits, one a home run, and five RBI. Gragg belted a two-run homer among her two hits. Gracen Scott had two hits, including a triple. She also knocked in four runs. Obenauf added two hits and four RBI.

 

Again, Bliss was the winning pitcher. She struck out nine.
