NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores boys lacrosse team used a second-half push to take down Battle Creek Lakeview on Saturday.

After being tied up 4-4 at halftime, the Sailors opened up and won, 9-4.

“We made some offensive and defensive adjustments for the second half and were able to control the action for the rest of the game,” said coach Murle Greer.

JJ Boos and Micah Carafelle led the Sailors by winning 15 out of 17 draws.

“Face-off play was huge for us,” said Greer. “The extra possessions give us the edge against strong teams.”

Luke Beilhartz, Brayton Conrad, Jake Nanna and Boos each chipped in with a pair of goals.

Andrew Baker and Madden Flanders supported defensively with four and two forced turnovers, respectively.

Goalkeeper Parker Hayward stopped nine shots.

Mona Shores (10-1, 7-0) will be at Spring Lake on Tuesday.
