ZEELAND–The Mona Shores boys golf team continued their winning ways on Wednesday in the fourth OK- Green golf jamboree.

The Sailors finished in first place with a 149 in the event played at Crestview Golf Course in Zeeland.

Following the Sailors were Zeeland West (174), Zeeland East (176), Holland (178), Reeths-Puffer (178) and Wyoming (250).

Mona Shores took five of the top ten individual spots with senior Nicholas Taylor leading the way with a 35. His senior teammate Oliver McDonald was just one shot behind him at 36 and Sailors’ senior James Ackley finished with a 38.

Other top ten performances included: Zeeland West sophomore Logan Bomers (39), Grand Rapids Union junior Landon Sandee (40), Reeths-Puffer freshman Kristian Brown (40), Mona Shores senior Thomas Stewart (40), Zeeland East senior Jacob Middleton (41), Mona Shores senior Carson Andree (41) and Zeeland East senior Jace Fenlon (42).

Top performances for Reeths-Puffer included: Dylan Panozzo (43), Mason Cregg (46), Tanner Bonjernoor (49), David Grimard (54) and Jacob Pierce (55).

“Kristian Brown continues to play well,” said Reeths-Puffer golf coach Matt Pallett. “He really battles out there. He looks like he is having a lot of fun. He was all smiles about his birdie putt in front of the crowd on the ninth hole.”

“I am very proud of Dylan Panozzo tonight,” Pallett said. “He has mentioned that a weakness of his is his mental game. Dylan had a tough hole that could have derailed his round. He showed a lot of mental toughness to rebound and end his round with four straight pars.”
