MONTAGUE — The Montague Wildcats won the first game with strong hitting and the North Muskegon Norsemen took Game 2 with solid pitching on Thursday.

Montague won the opener 19-7 and North Muskegon won the nightcap, 4-2.

In the first game, North Muskegon was led by Sam Gallo with two hits, one a double, and one RBI.  TJ Byard had two hits and knocked in one run. Troy McManus had a hit and scored twice.

Three pitchers threw for North Muskegon – Carson Moat, John Caliendo and freshman Oliver Fricke.

In the second game, Gallo pitched five innings and allowed one run. He struck out three. Troy McManus and Ryan Delora also saw time on the mound. Delora earned the save.

Top hitters for North Muskegon were McManus with two hits, including a double, and Sam Gallo with two RBI and one hit.
