FREMONT–The North Muskegon Norsemen swept a baseball doubleheader against the Fremont Packers on Friday

The Norsemen won the opener, 13-7, with a balanced hitting attack and then they relied on the arm of Jaxon Bean to take the nightcap, 2-1

Leading the hitting attack in the first game was junior Ben Meyers, who went 3-for-4, while scoring three runs and one RBI. Senior Troy McManus went 2-for-4 and had five RBI. Senior John Caliendo went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Sophomore Carter Meiler had two hits and two RBI. He scored three runs. Freshman Bryce Colbert had a double and knocked in one run.

The Norse used three pitchers with junior Alec Newville going 1.2 innings. He gave up two hits and four runs. Freshman Oliver Fricke went 2.2 innings and picked up the win. He gave up one hit and two runs, struck out three and walked one. Senior Denny Belmonte tossed two innings and gave up a pair of hits and walked one.
 
In the second game, North Muskegon Bean went the distance with a one-hitter. He struck out five and walked four.
 
McManus went 1-for-3 with a double. Junior Ryan Delora went 1-for-3 and knocked in a run and scored one.
