The Spring Lake girls’ tennis team opened its season this week, but came away without a victory.
The Lakers fell to Grand Rapids West Catholic on Wednesday and rival Grand Haven on Thursday. Both matches ended with 6-2 losses.
Rose Landry led Spring Lake at No. 1 singles against West Catholic with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Brianna Kirby and Aliya Williams took No. 4 doubles in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Against Grand Haven, the Lakers were led by Ada Feasby at No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 win. Sloan Horton and Sia Patel won at No. 2 doubles with sets of 5-7, 6-1, 10-7.
