HART — The Montague Wildcats posted a 3-0 victory over Hart on Monday, the Pirates final game at home.

The last time the Pirates played Montague they dropped a mercy 8-0 decision in a game that did not get into the second half.

Montague had 13 shots to the Pirates two in the first half, however the Pirates created the higher quality chances.

The Pirates’ two chances were higher quality, but were unable to convert. The first came on a cross to left winger Brooklyn Storms who had taken off at a dead sprint to get in behind the Wildcat line. Storms stayed strong shrugging off two challenges and firing her shot from just off the left corner of the six-yard box that Wildcat keeper Addison Pranger was equal to.

The Pirates other chance came again from on a shot by Sandy Salgado from between the 6-yard line and the penalty spot. Again, Pranger was equal to the task. The teams went into the break with a 0-0 tie.

Montague scored just over three minutes into the second half with the Pirates making a costly turnover just outside the penalty area that resulted in the Wildcat goal. The Pirates couple shots would be stuffed by Montague defenders.

The Wildcats scored with 22 minutes left with a shot fired from about 30 yards out that Chickering was just unable to tip high enough over the bar.

Another costly mistake would punish the Pirates with 43 seconds remaining when the ball was dropped resulting in a Montague tapping in to finish the game.

Keeper Mya Chickering made 10 saves in the loss.

Hart travels to Manistee for its district tournament on Friday at 5 p.m.
