BATTLE CREEK — The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks’ golf team qualified for next week’s NJCAA Division 2 championships next week.
The Jayhawks qualified after finishing second in the Region 12 championships at Bedford Valley Golf Club in Battle Creek. Grand Rapids Community College took the top spot.
Steve Cullen, who was the leader after Monday’s 36-hole event, shot a 78 and Tuesday and finished as the individual medalist for the two-day tournament. The golfers played 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
Andrew Taylor shot a 75 on Tuesday, followed by Dylan Lisman with an 80, Ben Zwick at 85 and Tyler Tallefson with an 86.
Next week’s national tournament will be at Swan Lake Golf Club in Donaldson, Ind.
