MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets finished 1-1 in Tier 1 of the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association softball tournament on Saturday.

Fruitport defeated the Rockets 7-6 in the opener. In the second, Reeths-Puffer defeated Oakridge, 7-6. All three teams in the pool finished with a 1-1 record so a tiebreaker of runs allowed was used to determine which team would advance. That pushed Oakridge into the championship game against Ravenna.

In the first game, the Rockets had eight hits, led by Natalie Kunnen and Kyleigh Bilek with two singles apiece. Bilek pitched four innings and Mady Snyder pitched two.

In the victory over Oakridge, Reeths-Puffer had 10 hits. Kyleigh Bilek had three singles and Jersi Bilek had a double and a single. Kaylee Jones added a triple and Kunnen had a double.

Lainey McDaniel pitched a complete game. She allowed five hits and struck out seven.

The Rockets are now 17-5 on the season.
