MASON, Ohio – The league-leading Muskegon Clippers played a major role in Tuesday night’s Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game.

The Clippers were well represented at the game, which featured a 10-inning game despite the fact the North All-Stars led 3-1 over the South All-Stars after nine innings. Clipper coach Logan Fleener served as the head coach for the North Division All-Stars.

Clipper shortstop Stoney Smith plated a run for the North with a groundout. Aaron Piasecki finished the game 0-2 at the plate while Colin Cornwell had two hits and catcher Jabin Bates was 1-2.

Muskegon also sent two pitchers to the mound during the contest. Brandon Scheurer pitched the second inning and allowed two hits and struck out two. Danny Gutierrez came on in the fourth inning and allowed one hit and struck out two. He was credited with the victory on the mound.

Each team used 10 pitchers (one inning each) in the game.  The North All-Stars notched 16 strikeouts in the game, which was delayed at the start due to rain.

The Clippers have seven regular-season games remaining, starting Wednesday night with a doubleheader against the Michigan Monarchs.

Home action returns to Marsh Field on Friday when the Clippers host the Monarchs at 7:05 p.m.

The regular season concludes this weekend when the Clippers host the second-place Lima Locos in back-to-back doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday at Marsh Field. Gametime is 4:05 p.m. each day.
