GRAND HAVEN –The Mona Shores volleyball team claimed their spot as the champions of the boardwalk for the fourth year in a row with a perfect outing on Friday.

The Sailors finished 3-0 with wins against Fruitport (25-15, 25-16), Spring Lake (25-22, 25-8) and Grand Haven (25-20, 25-23). 

Kyann Hellmann had 24 assists and 14 digs while Grace Allen and Jersey VanderWall had 22 kills and 18 kills, respectively.

Izzy Sturtevant added 23 digs and Mallory Hogston had 12 digs. Cece Gappa chipped in nine kills, six digs and five aces.

Spring Lake finished 0-3 with losses to Grand Haven (18-25, 25-27), Fruitport (24-26, 22-25) and Mona Shores.

Kallie Lewkowski had 27 digs with 15 kills while Katherine Penning and Brooke Bolthouse had 15 kills and 10 kills, respectively. Kara Constantine had 28 digs, 23 assists and seven blocks. Also, Ella Gapczynski added 12 blocks.

Fruitport was 1-2 with a win against Spring Lake and losses to Mona Shores and Grand Haven (14-25, 19-25).

Emma Danicek had 13 kills, three digs and an ace for the Trojans. Sadie Haase had 13 kills, four assists, two blocks and two digs while Kendal Kolberg had 12 digs and three aces. Lauren Reidel had 33 digs and had a pair of aces. 

Mona Shores (10-3) will host Fremont, Whitehall and Jenison for a quad match on Tuesday.

Spring Lake (5-6-1) will visit Montague on Monday for a quad match.

Fruitport (2-5) has a quad match at Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday. 

Grand Haven will be at home on Friday, Sept. 1 against Ludington.
