FREMONT –The Fremont volleyball team battled Montague in their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday.

The Packers came out on top in four sets, 25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18.

Kendall Barnhart led the pack with 20 kills, 17 digs and four aces. Mia Clemence added 11 kills with a pair of aces and Taylor DeKuiper had seven kills, three blocks and two aces.

Lili VandenBerg and Brynna Barnhart added 23 and 18 assists, respectively. 

The Wildcats’ Jordan Netcott had 12 digs, 10 kills, two aces and two blocks. Maizie Collins had 15 digs, seven kills and two aces while Jaelyn Sundberg contributed 32 assists, eight digs and an ace. Alissa Wynn had 32 digs and four aces for the Wildcats.

Fremont will hit the road to face Big Rapids on Thursday.

Montague (3-8-2) will play host to Orchard View on Tuesday.
