SCOTTVILLE – A first-set loss to Hart gave Mason County Central a wake up call on Tuesday and the Spartans responded with three-straight wins to come out on top, 3-1.

Hart started the evening strong with a 25-19 win in the first set before digging themselves into a hole the rest of the night. The second set saw the Spartans cruise to a 25-13 win before building a 10-point lead in the third set.

The Pirates made that third set a lot more interesting, but MCC came out with the 25-23 win. Finishing the night off with a win, the Spartans took a 25-17 win.

Hart was led by Kelsey Copenhaver (nine assists, seven kills, seven digs, two aces), Maryn Klotz (10 assists, four digs), Reese Smith (12 digs, nine kills) and Abby Hicks (nine digs, four kills, three assists).
