SCOTTVILLE – Shelby volleyball turned in another strong outing on Tuesday as they took down Mason County Central in three sets.

The Tigers dominated the first set, 25-11. The remaining two sets were much closer between the two teams, but it was Shelby that came out on top 25-18 in the second and 25-21 in the third.

Shelby was led by junior Navea Gauthier with 23 kills and 8 digs. Audrey Horton followed up with 22 assists and four aces, while Hannah Frees recorded 15 digs from the libero spot.

For the Spartans, Alayna Rafter had a strong night, going 10-for-10 serving with one ace and putting up four assists and five digs. Tori Dunblaizer led the way in attacks with seven kills, also adding four blocks and nine digs.

The Tigers (7-5, 1-0) will host Hesperia at 6:30 on Tuesday. MCC play Saturday when they take part in the Manton Invitational.
