MANISTEE – The Fremont boys’ soccer team grabbed sole possession of the WMC Lakes title with a victory against Manistee on Wednesday evening. The Packers outshot the Chippewas 22-12 and won 4-0.

It was a balanced scoring effort with Silas Rinne, Colson Buitendorp, Deagan Klimek and John Vissia each netting a goal. Chaz Miller and Killian Prewitt added two assists and one assist, respectively.

Caleb Vissia made 12 saves in net for the Packers, while Grayson Prince stopped 18 shots for the Chippewas.

Fremont (16-1-1 overall, 8-1-1 WMC Lakes) will play host to Sparta on Monday.

Manistee (9-5-2 overall, 4-4-2 WMC Lakes) travels to Clare on Thursday.
