Reeths-Puffer’s girls’ golf team completed its O-K Green campaign with its best highlight of the season so far.

The Rockets captured the O-K Green League Championship at The Ravines Golf Club on Wednesday, edging Mona Shores by 15 strokes with a team score of 353. The win enables Reeths-Puffer to share the conference title with Mona Shores.

“I am running out of words to describe this group of young ladies,” said Reeths-Puffer Coach Matt Pallett. “They continue to work hard to achieve goals. We are enjoying this great season and look forward to competing in Regionals.”

The squad was led by medalist Paige Anderson who shot an even-par 72. The senior’s round was highlighted by four birdies on the day and a first-place finish.

“Paige continues to impress,” said Pallett. “The win today makes five straight wins for her and that is against some good competition. She ended up with the lowest average in the conference this year, and that says a lot when our league has three returning All-Staters.”

Sophia McCollum turned in the second-best score for the Rockets with an 84 that included a birdie and was good for a fifth-place finish. Rowan Bluhm posted a 92 for sixth place overall.

Reeths-Puffer’s score was rounded out by Avery Luna’s 105.

Anderson, Bluhm and McCollum made the All-Tournament team and were named All-Conference.

Reeths-Puffer will now prepare for the Regional Tournament at Lincoln Golf Club in North Muskegon on Friday, October 13.
