The North Muskegon boys’ tennis team is on “cloud nine” after defeating cross-town rival Reeths-Puffer on Wednesday night.
The Norsemen took home the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles while winning at No. 1 and 2 doubles to edge out Reeths-Puffer 5-3.
Luke Hall defeated Reeths-Puffer’s Quinn Alderink 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Carter Mieler topped the Rockets’ Adam Miller 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. The Norsemen’s Logan Stack beat Cory Judd 6-4, 4-6 and 10-8 at No. 3 singles.
In No 1 doubles action, Kaden Bartolameolli and Luke Toebe beat Reeths-Puffer’s Trent VanDam and Adam Schrumpt 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Zach Rumley and Chase Yeager defeated the Rockets’ Preston Singleton and Travis Clockman 7-5, 6-4.
Reeths-Puffer was led at No. 4 singles by Alfonzo Gomez and Owen Schrumpt as they defeated Logan Eerbeek and Andrew Proksa 7-6 (4), 6-2.
The Rockets won No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles by default.
North Muskegon improves to 5-16-3 overall and next plays on Saturday in the Coastal Conference Tournament hosted by Whitehall.
