WHITEHALL – The Fremont boys soccer team battled wet playing conditions but claimed a Division 2 district title on Saturday. 

The Packers edged out Manistee, 2-1.

Redick Powell and Jude Fair each scored a goal while Deagan Klimek recording the assists.

The Packers’ goalkeeper Caleb Vissia made seven saves. Grayson Prince made 13 saves for Manistee.

Fremont (20-1-1) moves on to face once-defeated Kingsford in the regional opener at Gaylord at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Manistee closed out the season with a record of 11-6-2.
