FREMONT – The Fremont Packers advanced to the district semifinal round of the Division 3 soccer tournament on Wednesday night with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Hart Pirates.
Fremont will take on Montague at 5 p.m. next Wednesday at Whitehall in the district semifinal game. Montague advanced with a 3-1 victory over Shelby on Wednesday night.
Fremont (18-1-1) got on the board with 12 minutes remaining in the first half with a goal from Chaz Miller. Deagan Klimek drew the assist.
With 2 minutes remaining in the first half, Colson Buitendorp scored to give Fremont a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
Just 2 minutes into the second half, John Vissia converted on a goal off an assist by Killian Prewitt.
The Packers had a 15-3 advantage in shots with goalkeeper Caleb Vissia making three saves.
Hart finished its season 6-13-2.
