Fruitport ends winless season with lopsided loss to league champions

GRAND RAPIDS – The Fruitport football team ended its season with their ninth consecutive loss on Friday against the O-K Blue Conference champions from Grand Rapids West Catholic.

The Trojans fell to West Catholic, 58-7, and finished the season without a victory.

Grand Rapids West Catholic led 37-0 after the first quarter and 51-0 at halftime.

Both teams exchanged touchdowns during the third quarter before a scoreless fourth frame.

Bradon Dornbos found Bobby Canfield for a 10-yard touchdown completion for the Trojans to end a string of 58 straight points for Grand Rapids West Catholic.
