Holton finishes fifth in Division 4 regional golf tournament

BIG RAPIDS – The Holton Red Devils were the top area finisher in Tuesday’s Division 4 regional golf tournament at Katke Golf Course on the campus of Ferris State University.

The Red Devils finished fifth and were led by Emma Lee Fox, who qualified for the state finals with a round of 104.

The overall winner was Kennedy Gernaat from Kalamazoo Christian. She shot a 78.

Kalamazoo Christian easily outdistanced the field with a 353. Kalamazoo Hackett was second at 396 and Grand Rapids NorthPointe was third with 411. Hesperia finished 10th at 583. Kent City and Western Michigan Christian also participated, but did not have enough golfers to register a team score.
