The Mona Shores volleyball team cruised to a three-set sweep over Muskegon in the opening round of Division 1 district tournament.
The Sailors won by service scores of 25-4, 25-11 and 25-7 to advance to the district semifinals.
Jersey VanderWall led Mona Shores with seven kills and four aces, while Laynie Russell added five kills. Izzy Sturtevant contributed with six aces and eight digs.
The Sailors also had a strong performance from Kyann Hellman, who had two kills, 16 assists and four digs.
Kyli Geoghan chipped in with five aces and Grace Allen had four kills and six aces for Mona Shores.
The Sailors, who are now 37-5 overall on the season, will face Cadillac on Wednesday in the district semifinals.
