Muskegon Community College’s volleyball trip up north results in a pair of victories

The Muskegon Community College volleyball team traveled up north for a pair of MCCAA North Division matchups over the weekend.

The Jayhawks were in Escanaba on Friday and defeated Bay College, 25-18, 25-12, 24-26, 25-16. On Saturday, the Jayhawks claimed a sweeping victory over Alpena College, 25-18, 25-11, 25-15.

Rachel Romero had 16 kills, 16 digs, seven aces and two blocks, while Kaitlynn Bennett had 24 kills and five blocks. Leah Ellis chipped in 74 assists, 19 digs, 13 kills and seven aces.

Kendra Kieft added 33 digs, eight assists and five aces. Madisyn Dykema and Ana Trevino had 18 and 13 kills, respectively.

Muskegon Community College will travel to Montcalm Community College on Thursday.
