The Orioles struggled early on as Grant jumped out to a 20-10 lead in the first quarter.

But Schillinger took over from behind the 3-point line, bringing his team back in the hunt.

The Orioles managed to shake off the bad start, outscoring the Tigers 23-13 in the second quarter and finished the first half in a 33-33 tie.

Ludington outscored the Tigers 17-10 in the third quarter, building a 50-43 lead over Grant. The Orioles hit fire in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 32-14.

Cameron Gunsell also paced Ludington with 13 points and led the Orioles with nine rebounds.

Lucas Swanson led Grant with 19 points and Oakley Obenauf added 11.

The Orioles, 1-0 on the season, stay at home for their next game Friday night against Spring Lake in another non-conference encounter.

Grant, 0-1 to start the year, is at home for a Friday night meeting with Morley-Stanwood in both teams’ Central States Activities Association opener.
