KENT CITY – The visiting Ravenna Bulldogs relied on its bench on Tuesday night and opened the boys basketball season with a 56-49 victory over the Kent City Eagles.

Early injuries forced the Bulldogs to go to their bench and they responded.

Dylan May led Ravenna with 18 points, followed by  Chase Thomas with 14 and Wyatt Young with 11.

The Eagles led 10-9 after one quarter. The game was tied at 19-all at the half and the Eagles had a slim 41-40 lead after three quarters.

Ravenna came through with a 16-8 scoring margin in the final quarter to capture the non-league victory.
