Western Michigan Christian girls finish third, boys sixth at Division 4 cross country finals

BROOKLYN – The Western Michigan Christian Warrior cross country teams both turned in Top 10 finishes on Saturday at the Division 4 state finals.

The final meet took place at Michigan International Speedway.
The Warrior girls finished third while the boys came in sixth.
Whitmore Lake captured the state title with 78 points. Johannesburg-Lewiston was second with 112 and Western Michigan Christian had 124.
Grace Vanderkooi led Western Michigan Christian with a third-place finish in 18:27.7.
Mason County Eastern’s girls came in 10th place.
The overall winner was Aiden Harrand from Buckey with a time of 17:38.9.
In the boys race, Hillsdale Academy captured the state title with 129 points. Holland Calvary was second with 199 and Kalamazoo Hackett was third with 200. WM Christian was sixth with 221, Mason County Eastern was eighth with 239 and White Cloud finished 16th with 402.
The top 30 runners in each race were named all-state.
Western Michigan Christian: 26, Matthias Morse 16:48.2 (All-state); 31, Graeson Lawrence 16:59.1; 67, Owen Sytsema 17:38.2; 93, Reuben Anderson 17:56.7; 100, Alexander Lawrence 18:00.7.
Mason County Eastern: 18, Alex Tyndall 16:41.1 (All-state); 28, Luke Niedzielski 16:51.9 (All-state); 77, Henry Malburg 17:45.0; 117, Greyson Hoeflinger 18:14.4; 124, Milo Shoup 18:18.3.
