REED CITY – The Fremont girls basketball team, led by Jessica Bennett, is on a three-game win streak after a close win at the Reed City Holiday Tournament on Friday.

The action was close throughout, but the Packers managed to outscore Reed City 4-0 down the stretch to squeeze out the win, 53-49.

Bennett led the Packers and posted a career-high 25 points and seven rebounds. Mia Clemence earned a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Katie Ackerman added seven rebounds and five assists.

Taylor DeKuiper had five points, five rebounds and five steals.

Fremont (3-1, 2-0) will take on undefeated Morley-Stanwood in the championship round on Saturday. Morley-Stanwood toppled Division 1 Alpena in the first game.
