KENT CITY – The Kent City girls basketball team notched another CSAA Conference victory on Friday.

The Eagles put away Newaygo, 32-22.

The Eagles went up 13-2 after the first quarter and held off some of the Lions’ fourth-quarter scoring runs to ensure the win. 

Lillian Holmes led the Lions with six points and six rebounds. Kija Schultz scored six points and made four steals, while Maria Riddering added five steals and three points. 

Kent City (4-0, 2-0) will be at Morley Stanwood on Tuesday for conference play.

Newaygo (2-2, 1-1) will also see more league action on Tuesday as it hosts Grant.
