LUDINGTON — The Ludington boys’ basketball team rebounded in a big way during the second half Friday night for a come-from-behind, 67-57 victory over the visiting Fremont Packers.

Fremont jumped out to a big lead, canning six 3-pointers, but Ludington fought back and eventually won the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division contest. The Packers opened a 23-8 lead after the first quarter, only to see the Orioles regroup and peck away at the deficit.

An eight-point advantage for Ludington in the second quarter sent the two teams into the locker room at halftime with the Packers lead cut to 26-19.

Then, David Shillinger caught fire in the second half and scored 27 of his game-high 33 points in the final 16 minutes. Ludington outscored the Packers 20-9 in the third period and took a 39-29 lead into the fourth.
