CHEBOYGAN – The Mona Shores girls basketball team earned a 54-40 road win against Gaylord St. Marys on Saturday.

The teams were tied at nine after the first quarter, but the Sailors picked up the pace and went on to a 45-31 scoring advantage over the last three quarters. 

Khaleeya Cook led Shores with 13 points and Katie Phillips scored nine points. Logan Clausen and Laynie Russell added eight and six points, respectively.

Mona Shores (2-2) will be at home on Tuesday against Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern.
