WHITEHALL – The Montague girls basketball team opened WMC-Lakes play with a 47-27 win over Whitehall on Thursday.

The Wildcats jumped out to 16-5 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way past Whitehall.

“We bounced back from a tough loss on Tuesday and came together tonight for a great rivalry win,” said coach Jess DeBruin.

Addison Pranger led Montague with 16 points and Amanda Cederquist put up 12 points. Adilynn Pranger threw in seven points.

Montague (1-1, 1-0) will be at home against Ludington on Tuesday for more league action.

Whitehall (0-2, 0-1) will also see more conference play on Tuesday when they travel to Manistee.
