MUSKEGON – A big second-half surge lifted the Orchard View girls basketball team to a 36-13 victory on Tuesday.

The Cardinals led by two points at halftime, but went on a 23-2 second-half scoring run to pull away from the Crusaders.

Kadence Day led the Cardinals with 16 points, six steals and four rebounds, while J’La Childers added six rebounds and four blocks. Samone Walker had seven rebounds and five steals. Aleyiah Villapando had six rebounds and a pair of steals.

Orchard View (1-3, 0-2) will host Byron Center Zion Christian on Thursday.

Muskegon Catholic Central (1-3, 1-1) will compete at the Holton Holiday Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 28.
