FRUITPORT – The struggles continued for the Fruitport boys basketball team as they took a hard OK Conference-Blue loss to Coopersville on Tuesday evening.

The Trojans went down 30-17 after the first two quarters and ultimately fell, 50-29.

“We are still in the process of learning what it takes to compete for four quarters.,” said Fruitport coach Steve Erny. “We executed fairly well, but could not consistently knock down open looks or take care of the ball.”

Kyle Burke led Fruitport with 12 points, while Ryan Bosch and Hudson Hazekamp added nine points.

“Coopersville is an excellent team, plays really hard, and is well-coached,” Erny said. “We will bounce back and grow from this.”

Fruitport (4-6, 0-3) will be at home on Friday against Allendale for a league contest.
