The injury bug struck once again for the Spring Lake boys’ basketball team, and it cost them on Friday night in a 67-49 loss to Unity Christian in an O-K Blue Conference game.
The Lakers lost their leading scorer, Zach Schlepp, early in the third quarter and he didn’t return the remainder of the game.
Spring Lake trailed 19-8 after the first quarter, 38-24 at halftime and 58-36 through three quarters of play.
The Lakers were paced by Colin Burt with 14 points, while Jaden Core scored 12 and Karson George had 10.
Spring Lake, which will travel to Allendale on Monday to make up a game from earlier in the season, is now 6-7 on the season and 2-4 in league play.
