HESPERIA – Dylan May popped in 21 points on Thursday night and led the Ravenna boys’ basketball team to a 63-54 victory over Hesperia in a physical game.

The teams were tied at 13 after the first quarter, but the Bulldogs turned up the pressure to outscore the Panthers 18-9 in the second quarter and 25-18 in the third. The Panthers went on to make up some ground in the final quarter, but it proved to not be enough.

Besides May, Chase Thomas and Caleb Forsythe each scored 13 points.

The Panthers’ Bryce Billings scored 14 points and Ian Fox added 12 points off the bench. Nicholas Guarnieri scored 11 points and Ethan O’Neil contributed nine points.

Ravenna (7-3, 4-2) will be at home on Tuesday against Newaygo.

Hesperia (4-6, 2-3) will host Hart for league action on Tuesday.
