NEWAYGO – Despite a valiant double-double effort from Lillian Holmes, the Newaygo girls’ basketball team fell short to Lakeview in a 36-32 CSAA loss on Friday.
The Lions were down by five points at halftime and could not make up the deficit in the second half.
Holmes posted 12 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks, while Amaya Lathrop added 11 points, five steals and four rebounds.
Newaygo (4-6, 1-4) will be at home on Tuesday for league play against Reed City.
