The Reeths-Puffer girls’ basketball team failed to overcome a slow start in the opening quarter and fell to Zeeland West 43-32 on Friday in an O-K Green showdown.
The Rockets were limited to just four first-quarter points and trailed 9-4 at the end of the first quarter, 19-12 at halftime and 29-20 through three quarters.
Zeeland West outscored the Rockets 14-12 in the fourth quarter.
Brooklyn Tornes paced Reeths-Puffer with 18 points while pulling down seven rebounds. Irelyn Nicklasch chipped in with six points and 12 rebounds.
The Rockets are now 5-7 on the season and 4-2 in conference play.
