The Spring Lake boys’ basketball team needed overtime to earn their sixth win of the season on Tuesday night.

The Lakers outscored Hamilton 10-2 during the extra period and beat the Hawkeyes, 55-47.

Spring Lake started the game cold offensively as the Hawkeyes jumped out to a 15-2 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Lakers trailed 20-12 at halftime and 36-30 heading into the fourth quarter. Spring Lake went on a 15-9 run in the fourth quarter to force the overtime period.  

Zach Schlepp paced Spring Lake with 20 points and eight rebounds while Wren Dephouse scored nine points.  Colin Burt and Karson George each added six points.

Jaden Core and Dephouse each pulled down seven rebounds.

The Lakers, who will play a makeup game Wednesday against Holland Christian, are now 6-5 on the season and 2-2 in O-K Blue Conference play.
