WALKERVILLE – The Muskegon Heights basketball team claimed a Division 4 district title with a 56-32 victory over Muskegon Catholic Central on Friday evening.

The Tigers jumped to a slight 14-12 lead after the first quarter, but stretched their lead and maintained a comfortable cushion.

Myquel White led the Tiger attack with 13 points, followed by Cartier Vance with 10 points. Jamarion Taylor had nine and Lanard Gordon had eight.

The Crusaders’ Owen Lyonnais had 13 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while Jacob Lyonnais had nine points and five steals. Q Lorenz had six steals.

Muskegon Heights (5-11) will travel to Baldwin at 7 p.m. Tuesday to take on Marion in the regional semifinals.

Muskegon Catholic Central finished the season 6-19.
