NORTON SHORES – The Western Michigan Christian girls basketball team earned an Alliance League win with flying colors as they blew by West Michigan Aviation Academy on Wednesday.

The Warriors jumped out quickly and posted a 63-14 victory. The Warriors led 16-0 after the first quarter and 32-9 at halftime.

“Tonight’s win was a team effort,” said WMC coach Sarah Koetsier. “We were unselfish with the ball and everyone on the team scored tonight.”

Ashley Folkema led the Warriors with 13 points, five rebounds and five steals. Emersyn Paling threw in 10 points and seven steals, while Hannah Heiss had 10 points, five steals and five rebounds. Kasey Folkema pulled down eight rebounds.

WMC (7-3, 2-0) will travel to Grand Rapids Covenant Christian on Friday for a non-conference matchup.
