Delaney Young was clutch from the free throw line, making 11 from the charity stripe to lead the North Muskegon girls’ basketball squad to a 52-49 win over Holton on Tuesday.

Young finished the game with a game-high 26 points while pulling down seven rebounds.

Emma Buchmiller added nine points, four steals and four assists for the Norse while Gracie Philpot and Marilyn Gaston chipped in six points apiece.

“Defensive heart and hustle won this game,” said North Muskegon coach Jill Young. “Holton has incredible athletes, and every time we compete against them, win or lose, we get better.”

North Muskegon is now 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

The Red Devils were paced by Ryann Robins with 19 points while Aubrey Goyings added 13.
