GREEN BAY – Sacha Boisvert had a three-goal hat trick and propelled the Muskegon Lumberjacks to a 7-4 bounce-back win over the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday night at the Resch Center in Wisconsin.

The Lumberjacks, which saw its six-game winning streak end on Friday, are now 28-15-2 on the season, good for 58 points and a second-place tie in the USHL’s Eastern Conference standings.

Muskegon will look to take the three-game set over the Gamblers Sunday evening in Green Bay. Faceoff is slated for 4:05 p.m.

The Lumberjacks came back from three different deficits during the contest.

Green Bay jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Rasmus Larsson and Julian Lutz at the 9:29 and 10:58 marks of the first period.

The Lumberjacks responded with a goal from Matvei Gridin 18:21 into the opening period. Muskegon trailed 2-1 at the first intermission while being outshot by a 15-11 margin.

The Jacks tied the contest 2-2 with a goal from Xavier Veilleux 12:58 into the middle period.

That was the start of a flurry of goals in the remaining minutes of the middle period.

The Gamblers retook the lead at 3-2 on a goal from Jayson Shaugabay at the 13:58.

Muskegon once again tied the contest up at the 14:18 mark on a goal from Cooper Pierson.

Green Bay took yet another advantage with a goal from Libor Nemec at 15:34.

The Lumberjacks tied the game 4-4 with Boisvert’s first goal of the night 16:06 into the period. That’s the way the middle period ended.

Muskegon scored three unanswered goals during the third period to retake the lead and seal the victory.

Boisvert scored his second goal of the night at 4:51, Justin Solovey added a goal at 8:13 and Boisvert completed the three-goal performance with 52 seconds remaining.
