MUSKEGON – The Fremont girls basketball team put on the pressure for a 54-33 WMC-Lakes win against Oakridge on Thursday evening.

The Packers’ pressure helped force 10 Eagles’ turnovers in the first quarter. However, they couldn’t often capitalize and went 3-for-17 shooting.

The Packers owned a 22-18 lead at halftime and pulled away with a 23-10 scoring advantage in the third quarter.

Jessica Bennett led the Packers with 13 points, five rebounds and five steals, while Katie Ackerman added nine points, five rebounds and five steals. Khaila Noordyk scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. Mia Clemence chipped in seven points, eight rebounds, eight steals and four assists. 

The Eagles’ Anna Lundquist posted a double-double of 11 rebounds and 10 blocks. She had four points. Cambria led their attack with 13 points and six rebounds.

Fremont (11-3, 7-0) will host Montague on Tuesday for a conference matchup.

Oakridge (3-10, 1-7) will host Grant on Friday.
