KENT CITY – A solid shooting night from Maddie Geers helped push the Kent City girls’ basketball team past Grant, 46-35, on Tuesday night.

Free throws were key in the win and Geers went 17-of-24 from the line and accumulated 28 points.

The Eagles held a small 28-24 lead at halftime and edged out the Tigers 18-11 over the last two quarters to seal the game.

Laynee Hoffman scored eight points for the Eagles.

The Tigers’ Julie Ashbaugh put up 15 points and Natalia Rodriguez added 10 points.

Kent City is now 17-4 and Grant is 13-6.
