GRANT – Even with foul problems and key players forced to sit out minutes, the Grant girls’ basketball team topped Central Montcalm, 43-32, to stay unbeaten in the CSAA on Wednesday.

“It was another tough battle for us tonight,” said Grant coach Josh Delamater. “Central Montcalm is always a tough team that gets after it and is well coached.”

The Tigers went up 24-13 by halftime and carried that lead throughout the game.

Joccee Pleune and Natalia Rodriquez led Grant with nine points apiece. Julie Ashbaugh added eight points and Alexa Obenauf scored seven.

“The girls responded well tonight and played great defense even though Central Montcalm handled our press so well,” said Delamater.

Grant (9-3, 6-0) will travel to Remus Chippewa Hills on Friday for more league play.
