MUSKEGON – In a tough road environment, Hart’s boys basketball team was able to pull off a 57-38 win over Western Michigan Christian on Monday night.

A 12-0 lead in the first quarter set the Pirates up for success as they played an unselfish brand of basketball. That lead swelled to 23 by the third quarter and despite a late push by the Warriors, Hart was simply too much to handle.

Senior Blake Weirich led the charge for Hart, recording 25 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and two blocks. Caleb Ackley added 10 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks while Jesse Jacobs led the team in assists with four.

The Pirates (9-8, 6-2 WMC Rivers) have now won six of their last seven games. Hart will face off against Newaygo on Wednesday as they enter game two of a four-game road trip.
