HART – A battle between two girls basketball programs that are in very different places ended with Hart trouncing Hesperia, 57-8.

The Pirates came into the game unbeaten in the WMC Rivers while Hesperia had yet to pick up a win in the conference.

Hart took a 39-3 halftime lead.

Hart was led by freshman Reese Smith with 11 points and six rebounds while junior Addi Hovey tallied 11 points and four assists. Rilynn Porter also chipped in 10 points while Rayah Helenhouse had eight rebounds.

The Pirates (13-4, 10-0 WMC Rivers) are left now with just two conference games before the regular season comes to a close, meaning they’re guaranteed to at least be named co-conference champs. Hart will face non-conference opponent Morley-Stanwood on Monday.

Hesperia (3-16, 0-11 WMC Rivers) will take on Tri County on Tuesday.
