MUSKEGON – The Oakridge boys basketball team clinched a 68-64 double overtime victory over WMC-Lakes rival Orchard View on Thursday night.

Orchard View maintained control for much of the game and had the Eagles down by 14 points with less than 4 minutes to play. Evan Miller was clutch and helped push the Eagles into overtime with nine fourth-quarter points.

The Eagles opened overtime with the lead, but the Cardinals managed to force turnovers that gave them the chance to force a second overtime. Both teams battled in the second overtime, but the Eagles’ Julian Primmer put away four critical free throws to put away the game.

Peyton Ruel led the Eagles with 19 points and Miller ended the night with 16 points. Bryson Stephenson added 10 points.

The Cardinals’ BJ Sewell poured in 17 points, while Delaney Oakes and Stephon Oakes scored 14 and 11 points, respectively. 

Oakridge (14-6, 7-4) will be at home against Ravenna on Tuesday.

Orchard View (4-15, 1-9) will visit Ludington on Tuesday for league play.
