The Mona Shores girls’ basketball team failed to maintain their late advantage in a 47-43 loss to Wyoming on Tuesday night.

The Sailors trailed 12-9 at the end of the opening quarter, but led 24-20 at halftime and 34-31 heading into the final eight minutes.

Wyoming outscored the Sailors 16-9 in the fourth quarter.

Khaleeya Cook and Katie Phillips each scored 12 points to lead Mona Shores while Tia Norman added 10. Braylin Meyers chipped in six.

The Sailors are now 9-9 overall, 5-6 in conference action.
